Quartz crystals are very sensitive to mass changes on the surface of the quartz device. Using this unique characteristic is the function of the quartz crystal microbalance or QCM. Connor-Winfield produces and designs QCMs for both gas and liquid environments. We offer standard round wafers (with or without plating/mounted or unmounted), round or rectangular inverted mesa (allowing for higher frequencies), and custom designed multiple spot devices (flat or inverted mesa). Utilizing our proprietary photolithography process, design possibilities are limitless.
